RedHat Enterprise Linux is trade mark of RedHat, Inc. Although this distro is called RedHat Enterprise Linux 4ES but it was not made by RedHat Inc, but it's a clone of RedHat Enterprise Linux 4ES. I made this distro and hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. I don't take any responsibility for any type of damage incurred by using this distro.------------------------------------------
Thank you for using this Linux distro. It's a RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) clone version 4ES, one of 4 newest versions of RedHat Enterprise Linux: AS, ES, WS, Desktop.
The reason I have chosen ES because it's quite popular for enterprises (small and mid size), schools, universities, etc. I built this distro from source packages of RedHat.
The differentiation between these versions is at user level, not for developer or who is familiar with RedHat Linux because with some “manipulations” you can easily convert one edition to another edition.
I made this distro just for fun and help anyone who want learn Linux at any level. So this RHEL clone is absolutely free.
I have tested this distro on my server at home (both 2 versions 32 bits and 64 bits) for months with almost server services (DNS, DHCP, FTP, WEB, Samba, Squid. qmail, MySQL). It works well, very stable so far.
The minimum configuration of PC is Pentium 3, 500Mhz with at least 256 MB RAM, and 8GB hard drive. I recommend PC Pentium 4, 3000Mhz, 512 MB RAM or bigger, 60 GB hard drive or bigger.
Note at first boot:
At RedHat Login, to bypass it please choose:
“Tell me why I need to register and provide a RedHat log in” --> Next -->”I can not complete registration at this time. Remind me later”.--> Next. Then enter your username and password.
Have fun!
